Nancy P. Young
Is a licensed Ayurveda practitioner, Licensed Master Aesthetician, & Certified Nutritional Counselor; & created the dbts Skin Bar brand in 2007.
She always knew she wanted to help people, "I just thought it would be more in the traditional medical field. I completed 3 ½ long years at Eastern Michigan University receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a double minor in child psychology and sociology. In my last year, I started to realize that this was not how I had intended on helping others. I didn't want to be a (shrink), I wanted to be an innovator. I wanted to help people become healthier specifically through skin care. This is when the concept of Delicate Beauty Therapeutic Spa began. My goal is for everyone to leave feeling educated, healed and refreshed.” A lifelong practitioner of the healing arts, she is regarded a pioneer in the wellness movement & draws on her extensive experience to create these robust collections of holistic centered, natural inspired, diverse product assortment and collections. Nancy wants to encourage people to be active participants in their own skin and body health journey’s.
The spring of 2011 Nancy developed the ultimate tool for educating her clients on how to maintain and achieve optimal skin health dbts Skin Bar, which was originally developed as an educational site that broke down in detail skin types, diseases and how to treat them. "education has always been the driving force behind my career choice as skin therapist (aesthetician), when I received my certification as a Nutritional Counselor, I knew then that I had to mold the concept of the Skin Bar into the educational and therapeutic hub that I had always intended it to be, it is important that people understand that skin health isn't a luxury, but a necessity."
Nancy has 18+ years of skin health/wellness experience. She completed her 600 hour certification in Aesthetics from the Douglas J Aveda Institute & currently she holds several thousand hours of post graduate courses, making her a Master Aesthetician. She is a Michigan Board Certified Aesthetician & Certified in Nutritional Counseling & Wellness.
Most importantly, Nancy practices what she preaches, making health and wellness part of her everyday life, from growing herbal remedies in her indoor green room to testing treatments at her spa. Active in the fitness community, she has been an indoor cycle instructor for 8 years & competes in fitness competitions. Nancy has ensured the brand remains cruelty free, vegan, & ecofriendly. Fueled by her passion for self-care, Nancy continues to travel the globe, absorbing the practices of spa rituals & wellness knowledge, while discovering the virtues of traditional healing practices and adapting them to create innovative products and spa rituals to incorporate during hands on treatments. Nancy created the dbts brand in 2008 & as of 2017 is officially a Trade Marked brand.
In 2024 Nancy celebrated her 40th birthday, first she enjoyed homemade delicious gluten free home made cake with her 3 daughters & husband Brian at their Tulum, Mexico home; then 48 hours later her and Brian boarderd a flight time traveling over two days from Mexico to Moshi, Tanzania where they climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro over 7 days. When asked how it was, she replied;
“It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, harder then starting a business, harder then creating a natural base skin care line, & harder then giving birth, because you are on natures time table. It is the keeper of your thoughts & emotions and you must transcend above any self doubt or negative talk if you are going to make it through. The moutain truly gives you a different perspective of how you should be thankful for your mind and body & all that it does for you. I am more patient, I am more powerful & better because of it.”
